Wattpad

I (re)discovered Wattpad yesterday, and immediately began on a frenzy of uploading various things I've written for a number of projects over the years.

The idea behind this is getting another metric for what people want to see, as well as making some initial advertising for my upcoming game projects (since I hope to publish a game by the end of May [or June, as I am a mere mortal] and then immediately launch a Kickstarter).

I was curious if people have thoughts/ideas. Do you write stories or other self-standing pieces for your games, and if so, do you use them for promotion purposes?

(Link to my Wattpad profile for anyone curious: )

I had no idea Wattpad existed. What do you like about it?

It's expansive enough in scope to cover all my eclectic writings (stuff like novels for independent sale, five minute writes, tabletop game excerpts) with the ability to engage with my audience and add commentary and other details as I go.

I also feel that it's sufficiently removed from my commercial interests that I can publish the stuff I wrote for homebrew alongside the stuff I wrote for my own stuff, making it a place where I can build a portfolio.

Plus, writing for an audience keeps me accountable for actually writing once in a blue moon.

I could see getting lost down this rabbit hole. I'm not really sure what I'd be doing with it at the moment, how strong are the tools for making connections with readers?

I don't know. There seems to be a pretty robust framework, but I don't see others using it.
