How do you hurry up a campaign?

With #2 child en route, I have to hurry up my current campaign. Annoyingly, I've got enough content for about 3 or 4 years of play! Now I have to find a way to condense it and move the players along without the game turning cartoony.

How would you do it?

Gunpoint?

If we rule out insane/criminal options, as we should, I've actually done this via abridging the campaign, selecting a handful of major NPCs and following only them. Unless anyone objects, the downtime is largely handled via narration, though it's worth noting that I've done this mostly in campaigns where everyone's working for one faction, so I just skip the "dreary" time and mention any notable events that occur during it.

Of course, that means some of the precious content goes bye-bye.

Increase the resources of the characters. Either they get assistance, or people that directly report to them. They can delegate tasks that they don't really want to handle. Tension builds when they throw a group of people at a task and they don't succeed.
